Fr. Douglas Bazi - May 3, 2016

Worthy Brother Knights:

Fr. Douglas Bazi will be coming to Phoenix May 3, 2016. A special night is planned to hear his story of his kidnapping and torture for nine days at the hands of jihadists. Fr. Bazi will speak at Xavier College Preparatory. See the attached flyer for more details.  Also attending this fabulous evening will be the Most Rev. Thomas J. Olmsted, Bishop of Phoenix.

Fr. Douglas is an amazing man of deep faith and is pastor to more than 100 families that were kicked out of their homes by ISIS in June of 2014. You may have seen him in the commercials on TV sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. This is a must see event for all Catholics, especially you my brother Knights.

Tucson Planned Parenthood Protest Info

Join us on April 23rd for the ProtestPP National Day of Protest Against Planned Parenthood in Tucson.

On April 23, #ProtestPP will conduct the first annual nationwide protest at Planned Parenthood facilities nationwide, to be held on the 4th Saturday of April every year until the abortion chain no longer preys upon our communities.

We’ll call on Congress and the States to cut off all government funding to Planned Parenthood and bring charges against all those responsible for the horrific baby parts scandal. And we’ll demand that all charges against undercover journalist David Daleiden be dropped.

Visit http://protestpp.com/#home for more information.
Contact the protest coordinator at tucson@protestpp.com.

State Deputy Message - April 2016

April 1, 2016

Brothers,

We are starting our 4th Quarter of this fraternal year. Wow! How time flies? As a State, we have a lot to be thankful for and proud of. We reached our 16,000th member in Arizona. We are embracing our mission calling to build the domestic Church, while strengthening our Parishes. Our Bishops are extremely appreciative of our continue service to our faith community. The charities we support are appreciative of the great work we are doing in our community. I am extremely appreciative of all the great efforts you and your council are doing to stand tall, fight the good fight, and grow in strength. As I have said earlier this year, we are helping our pastors and priests in their ministry to bring our faith community closer to God. The number one thing we can do to meet this objective is to grow the Order. With more men and their families in the Knights of Columbus, you and your council will be better fortified to help our parish grow stronger.

We are preparing for the 2016 State Convention, on May 20 and 21, 2016, at the Casino Del Sol Resort, in Tucson. We look forward to seeing every council represented at this very important meeting.  Not only will we be conducting the business of the State Council, electing our State Officers, and voting on resolutions, we will also be celebrating our successes of this fraternal year. There will be lots of time for fraternal bonding and enjoying the many hotel amenities.

I ask you to continue to work hard to earn the Star Council Award. There is still time to complete the programs necessary, as well as obtain your membership and insurance goals. We have about 90 days to finish strong. With everyone’s help, the Arizona jurisdiction will earn the Supreme Circle of Honor Award. This is the year! Together, we can do it!

The Arizona Knights of Columbus 2015-2016 fraternal year’s theme is “Find Us Ready Lord”. This year’s theme deals with the Destiny of Man and how we prepare ourselves for our final reward and attain the joys of heaven. We can prepare with Service, Prayer, Charity, Unity, Fraternity, & Patriotism.  We need to build our Order stronger so together we can work to combat the evil lurking in our world today. Please pray the Prayer of St. Michael the Archangel at the end of every meeting and gathering. Satan is destroying our society and Church while working on every family, man, woman, and child to not follow the teachings of our Catholic Church. We must keep our councils and assemblies strong to fight this battle and defend everything we know as good. Please pray that St. Michael will protect us and our Lord will guide us so we will remain victorious and continue to build our Church with service and faith.

Vivat Jesus!
