Membership Memo

Easter Greetings Worthy Grand Knights!
I want to thank you all for the hard work you have been putting in recruiting new members to the Order. We recruited 109 new Brother Knights in March, which makes it the most successful March in four years!  We are well along now in April with 43 members as of today.
With Holy Week behind us, and our "spiritual batteries" recharged with joy in Our Lord's Resurrection, let's resume our efforts to grow the Order in Arizona.  We have about 10 weeks to go and still need to recruit at least 281 new members.  This is a big number, but I know with each of your councils' support, this is a number we can reach.  (If your council has not yet conducted a Spring Church Drive, get one scheduled ASAP!  Remember, Church Drives work!)
Remember, in addition to Membership, we need to grow the Order in Insurance and make our impact in Programs.  Combined with Membership growth, Insurance growth and Programs are needed to reach Star Council.  As of today, 7 Councils have reached their Membership and Insurance goals.  18 more have reached membership goals but need insurance numbers, 10 have reached Insurance and not yet Membership.  Don't forget, your Field agent is a powerful resource for membership growth.  Work with him!
Congratulations to those Councils that have reached (or almost reached) their goals.  I encourage you to continue working hard toward Star Council!  Don't miss Star or the Columbian Award by failing to submit a complete Form SP-7 or any other required form!  It's time to start getting those SP-7 forms submitted (even if some programs will be completed between now and the end of the Fraternal Year) in plenty of time to correct any deficiencies.

Brothers, each of you are leaders in the Arizona Jurisdiction have a key role and responsibility to grow the Order in Arizona.  You Councils can only reach Star Council and the State can only reach Circle of Honor with your leadership.  Keep up the good work, and we can make it!

Support for Vets

Father Anthony Rey Assembly # 3617 donates $361.70 to support the Southern Arizona Veterans and First Responders Living Memorial.

On 19 April 2017 at the monthly business meeting of the Father Anthony Rey Assembly # 3617, SK Burt Hansen from council # 13272 at St. Mark in Oro Valley briefed fellow Sir Knights on the Southern Arizona Veterans and First Responders Living Memorial.
They have a website at https://soazveteransfirstrespondersmemorial.org/.  The Father Anthony Rey Assembly was so moved by his presentation that they donated $361.70 (an amount that corresponds to their Assembly number) to support this worthy effort.

2017 AZ State Free Throw

The 2017 State Free Throw Tournament was held on March 18th at Norte Dame Prep with much success.  We wish to thank Norte Dame Prep High School for their generosity and use for their gym.  Thanks to St Joseph’s youth camp for providing lunch and drinks for everyone.  There were 24 Districts represented, thanks to you District Deputies for getting the word out and conducting your District Tournament over 194 score sheets were sent in.  Thanks to all of the brother Knights who helped the day of the tournament with registration, scoring and shagging basketballs.  There were 27 Councils who participated in the event, to you Grand Knights and Council Youth Directors, you deserve a great round of thanks for promoting this to your community’s youth.  We had over 97 girls and boys this year.  This program keeps growing with thanks to all who support the KofC youth programs.

Vivat Jesus!
