Knights in Action-Morenci

6248 - Eleven SKs from five Assemblies from throughout southern Arizona honored Fr. Martin Atanga at Holy Cross church in Morenci on the occasion of him becoming a U.S. citizen, as well as his 25th anniversary of being ordained.

 

6210 - SK Rob Bridges and St. Francis of Assisi Assembly 2058 in Sierra Vista, spearheaded efforts to recognize Fr. Atanga's recent milestones.

 

6214 - Assembly 2058 PFN John Goodman (l) and Daniel Garcia present Fr. Atanga an American flag, flown over the U.S. capitol in his honor.

  As a Morenci High School senior, Garcia (r) was part of the ground breaking ceremony for Holy Cross church in Morenci in 1970.

 

6231 - Sir Knights from Fray Francisco Garces Assembly 12, Miami and the Copper Corridor, St. Francis Cabrini Assembly 18, Safford, St.Francis of Assisi Assembly 2058, Sierra Vista, Fr. Henry Miller Assembly 2308, Tucson and St. Alphonsus Assembly 3407, Catalina traveled to Morenci to congratulate and celebrate with Fr. Martin Atanga recently.

Knights in Action - Tucson

1.)  Sir Knights from Gercke Assembly 16, Henry Miller, 2308 and Hughes 2392, prepare to lead the procession in honor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel to Santa Cruz parish in Tucson on July 15.

  The pastor of Santa Cruz parish is Tucson native, Fr. David Guzman, Order of Carmelites Discalced (OCD)

 

2.)  Several Councils carried their banners while praying the Rosary through the residences near Santa Cruz church in Tucson.  The procession is at the request of Fourth Degree Knight, Fr. David Guzman,OCD. 

 

3.)  After praying the Rosary on the mile long procession to Santa Cruz church, Sir Knights and parishioners attended the Vigil Mass for the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.

Knights in Action July 4th

Twenty six Sir Knights from four Assemblies from Tucson, Mesa and Flagstaff marched in "America's Best Town for 4th of July" parade, named by Travel and Leisure magazine. 

CCC Bill Strube, Assembly 2889 (Mesa), joined CCC Ruben Sandoval (not pictured) of Assembly 2308 (Tucson).  Sandoval's two sons are the first red capes behind Strube.

Marshal Drew Mansager, AZ South, addresses the Honor Guard regarding health and safety issues before the parade.

Marshal of the North, SK Pete Kloeber, commands the color guard in a column left movement.  The crowd is up close and very enthusiastic at the Flagstaff parade.

  Assemblies participating in the parade were Tucson's Gercke Assembly 16, Flagstaff's Msgr. Albouy, Assembly 17, Tucson's Miller Assembly 2308 and Mesa's Collins Assembly 2889.

Knights in Action Photos

Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Tucson celebrated their annual Feast Day Dinner tonight 25 June 2016. There were 12 Sir Knights in the Honor Guard.

Twelve Sir Knights lead the exit procession after Mass celebrated by
Father Patrick Crino, Pastor and Our Worthy State Chaplain. Deacons Tom
Campbell and Paul Duckro assisted in the celebration of the annual
Parish Feast Day on 25 June 2016

12 Sir Knights formed the Honor Guard for the celebration of the Mass at
Saints Peter and Paul Church in Tucson on the occasion of their annual
Feast Day. After the Mass, Sir Knights and their wives attended a
lasagna dinner courtesy Knights of Columbus Council 11855. A video
history of the parish since its founding in 1930 was the highlight of
the evening.
