Membership Memo - May 8, 2017

Greetings Worthy Grand Knights!
I want to thank you all for the hard work you have been putting in recruiting new members to the Order. We recruited 78 Members in April which is 1 more member than April last year. So far in May, we have added 24 additional Brother Knights to our ranks.  What a great first week for May!
We have about 8 weeks to go and still need to recruit at least 222 new members.  This is a big number, but I know with each of your councils' support, this is a number we can reach.  (If your council has not yet conducted a Spring Church Drive, get one scheduled ASAP!  It's not too late.  Church Drives work!)

In addition to Membership, we need to grow the Order in Insurance and make our impact in Programs.  Combined with Membership growth, Insurance growth and Programs are needed to reach Star Council.  As of today, 8 Councils have reached their Membership and Insurance goals.  24 more have reached membership goals but need insurance numbers, 9 have reached Insurance and not yet Membership.  Your Field agent is a powerful resource for membership growth.  Work with him! Your Field Agent and Our General Agent, Nate Raso, are eager to help your councils make your goals and reach Star Council.
For the months of May and June the State Council will pay the State Per Capita dues for the July 1 billing for every new member that you bring in during these two months.  Remember if you earn Star Council Supreme will reward you with $4.50 for every active billable member on your roster.  Reach Star Council and get multiple rewards
Congratulations to those Councils that have reached (or almost reached) their goals.  I encourage you to continue working hard toward Star Council!  Don't miss Star or the Columbian Award by failing to submit a complete Form SP-7 or any other required form!  It's time to start getting those SP-7 forms submitted (even if some programs will be completed between now and the end of the Fraternal Year) in plenty of time to correct any deficiencies.

Msgr Van Wagner Funeral

KNIGHTS PAY FINAL RESPECTS TO MSGR VAN WAGNER

15 Sir Knights in regalia from four Southern Arizona assemblies rendered final honors to Msgr Van A. Wagner Friday, 05 May 2017 at his funeral Mass at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Holy Hope Cemetery.

In 1996, as pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, it was Father Van Wagner who was the driving force in establishing the Knights of Columbus Francis J. Green Council # 11855.  He was the charter chaplain and active in the council even in his retirement.
